Building Survey for the price of a Homebuyers Report?

1

It’s that time of year when you can feel it getting colder, you start noticing the changing colours of trees leaves and nights start drawing in. You may also have been having a busy week and are also thinking about your house move and wondering whether to have a house survey. You may also be wondering what the difference is between a Homebuyers Report and a Building Survey and which is better.

Shall I have a Homebuyers Report or a Full Structural Survey?

We always recommend a Full Structural Survey.

We can almost hear you saying that as we are Surveyors say that we would say this – we do genuinely mean this.  Why? - read on.

Our Full Structural Surveys generally cost about the same as a Homebuyers Report and cover so much more.  We always recommend a Full Structural Survey and are not keen on Homebuyers Reports (we will carry one out if you really insist) as they are very limited in what you can and cannot say.  A Homebuyers Report is almost a tick list report and we just do not feel that something as important and as expensive as a new house should be restricted with only a Homebuyers Report.

Great Value Surveys

We do believe that our Full Structural Surveys are great value particularly when compared against a Homebuyers Report or a Mortgage Valuation (which is not a survey at all). Our Full Structural Surveys, we believe, our the best building surveys money can buy as they:-

Hundreds of Survey Photos

Literally hundreds of high-resolution digital photos are taken by our Building Surveyors when carrying out a full structural survey and included in our survey reports.  We also include aerial view 360 photos too which are a great way of showing you hard to reach areas such as roofs and valley gutters and any associated problems.

We always recommend coming along to meet your Building Surveyor on the day of the survey at the property.  Our Building Surveyor will be able to discuss any property issues or concerns you have together with giving advice if you are planning to extend or amend the property.

3D House Models and Layout Plans

Our Surveyors can provide you with a 3D model of your house and layout plans which will help you if you are planning on extending the property or amending the floorplan. A 3D model of your house will help you visualise any changes saving you time and money as well as ensuring your builders are on the same page as you.
