This November, don’t let your money go up

in smoke!

If your home is not insulated you might as well strap some cash to a
firework or throw it on the bonfire next to Guy Fawkes. The waste is just
the same. So add some heat to your home before the winter cold strikes!

A vast amount of expensive heat escapes from your home through the loft. Department of Environment figures show that up to 25 per cent of heat loss is through this route. By insulating the loft floor, walls and perhaps the rafters too, you can keep most of the heat where it is meant to be – in the living area of your home.

Immediately after insulation you’ll start to notice how much less fuel is needed to keep the house at the temperature you like to keep your toes toasty. Good quality insulation can also ensure your home stays cooler in hot summer weather. Loft floor insulation is available in blanket form made from glass mineral wool fibres at most of local DIY stores.

We can give advise on where to insulate, what to use and to what thickness, as well as safety issues and explain the importance of preventing things such as “cold bridging”.
