Halloween’s here and there’s a chill in the air – but there are plenty of ways to warm things up without wasting energy or receiving those scary bills.

There are several simple measures that householders can take to ensure their homes remain energy-efficient this winter.

For example, good old draught excluders are a great way to trap in heat that may escape through ill-fitting doors and windows. Excluders are cheap and will start your savings and make your home more snug immediately.

Householders should also ensure they have their boiler serviced as if it is not functioning properly a great deal of energy may be lost, and boilers account for 60 per cent of all domestic CO2 emissions. Using a high-efficiency condensing boiler with heating controls could save you up to £180+ a year, and significantly cut your home's CO2 emissions.

Then there’s slightly more expensive measures like fitting double-glazing or better loft insulation also pay dividends in the long run.

We can offer loads more winter-warming and energy-saving advice and tips that won’t burn a hole in your pockets – just call us to ask.
