Property Eras and Common Problems

If you need help and advice with regard to structural surveys, building surveys, home buyers reports engineers reports, defects reports, including things such as cracks, dampness, condensation, foundation problems, etc, Please free to phone 0800 298 5424 for a friendly chat.

We have produced the following series of articles covering different property eras and their typical problems and issues.

We would advise that the property problems associated with each different era can be very specific to the area and location of the property, or even the direction it is facing, i.e. north, south, east or west elevations can each have their individual problems. The defects and problems also relate to the mixture of building materials used, this can range from small repairs to where alterations and extensions have been carried out, and, of course, the age and general standard of the original construction and any additional maintenance that has taken place on the property.

Having said all of that we have given you a general indication of the typical problems that each era of property has, which we hope will be a useful free guide.

This series of free property problems articles unfortunately cannot be conclusive, as there are whole books, thesis', Phd's, Doctorate studies etc that have been written on smaller subjects! In each article we refer you to some of these.

We hope these free articles have been of help to you but if you want any further independent expert advice from a surveyor with regard to structural surveys, building surveys, structural reports, engineers reports, dilapidations claims, specific defects reports, structural surveys, home buyers reports or any other property matters please contact 0800 298 5424 for a surveyor to give you a call back.
