1stAssociated surveyed the main house and the attached annexe for us on this listed property as requested. It was great to be able to meet the surveyor at the property and we found him to be very informative. The surveyor even gave us a verbal valuation of the property. The survey highlighted quite a few issues making this in the surveyors words a ‘high risk purchase but it wont fall down tomorrow’. Taking this into consideration and looking at the pros and cons of this property and our needs we have decided to buy it. We will definitely recommend 1stAssociated on to friends and family. Initially I was very impressed by the information on the website which made me contact 1stAssociated regarding a survey on a pub we were looking at purchasing. My initial contact was so lovely and helpful and explained how they could help us and sent me an example survey to look at. I decided to book and I am so happy I did as this survey changed our lives. As restaurateurs we know nothing about buildings and how builders cover things up but the surveyor really opened our eyes with his knowledge and explained things in a way we could understand without using all the technical jargon. Before this survey we were about to spend £500,000 to buy this pub and another £500,000 for work on it. This 1938 property appealed to us for various reasons but we particularly liked the large garden. The surveyor highlighted various problems that included defects with the chimney and cracking and when we added the costs up it just wasn’t to be. I am so pleased we had a survey though as we would never have known. We are now looking for another property albeit a newer one and will definitely be calling 1stAssociated again for their help.
