Sergey Brin and Larry Page - Google

Sergey Brin and Larry Page, two PhD students began Google. It's amazing that a business that started in a garage ended up photographing the world! The original intention was to open up the Internet with good quality search engines which have been more than achieved.

Larry Page early years and education

Lawrence (Larry) Page was born in Michigan on 26 March 1973 to computer expert parents. His father was a pioneer in computer science and his mother taught computer programming.

Larry Page picked up a bachelor's of science degree in engineering from the University of Michigan and then moved onto Stanford University to study computer engineering.

Sergey Brins early years and education 

Sergey Brin was born in Moscow, Russia on 21 August 1973. In 1979 his family emigrated America.

Sergey Brin gained a degree in mathematics and Computer science from the University of Maryland.

Larry Page and Sergey Brins career

It was at Stanford University that Larry Page met Sergey Brin and Google was created.

Larry Page carries the title CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and Sergey Brin is best known as the co-founder of Google.

More about Google

Google was named after the mathematical term ‘Googol'.

Google was created after the founders came to the conclusion that the most popular result would be the most useful.

Google was launched in 1998 and is today the world most popular search engine.

The computer age owes a lot to Alan Turing (see link below). We are still developing and looking at artificial intelligence.
